Day trip logistics

Equipment list

Welcome to Big Bend Backcountry!

Logistics

Most day tours in Revelstoke will start with meeting at La Baguette Coffee shop in town at 7am. Depending on conditions we have many options on where to spend the day skiing.

Options include- Rogers Pass (Glacier National park park pass required), RMR slack country (will supply 50% off lift tickets) and other locations <1hr

We will go over equipment, plan for the day, sign waivers. Your guide for the trip will reach out in the 48hrs before the trip start to give you an idea on where we will ski for the day, depending on groups desires, ability, avalanche forecast and highway conditions.

Rogers Pass (Glacier National Park)

The infamous Rogers Pass is a known as a North American Mecca for ski touring and ski mountaineering. Highway access from ~900m to 1330m. Mainly longer valley approaches but access to many glaciers, chutes, avalanche paths, alpine terrain and some tree skiing.

A 45-60 minute drive from Revelstoke. Plan to be in the field from ~8:30am - 4:00pm.

A national park pass from Parks Canada is required for all vehicles and can be purchased for daily or annual use and ideally would be purchased before the ski day to maximize our time in the field.

Revelstoke Mountain Slack Country

Take a lift to 2250m and avoid the valley bottom slog. Get amazing skiing while taking in views of the Columbia Valley. There is a variety of terrain which works well with most conditions! We can help with the extra lift ticket cost by supplying 50% off discounts.

Lift tickets are not included in our fee.

Gondola starts loading at 830am and plan to be done by 4pm.

This trip clients will meet with guide at La Baguette at the resort base at 8:00am.

With ever rising prices of lift passes at Canadian resorts contemplate looking into our Snow Cat Assisted Touring products if bookings allow.

Local Stashes

Local Big Bend guides have some cards tucked into their back pockets. Some are accessed off paved roads and depending on the winter some forest service roads. Most of these locations are in the Monashees known for its deep snowpack and epic tree skiing

Plan to be in the field from 8/830am - 4pm

If you're just a solo guest tandem snowmobile access may be an option. Ask about details.

Pricing

$850 for up to two people and an additional 50$ for each additional guests. 6 guests maximum.

For Canadian clients e-transfer is preferred but Visa payment is possible.

Payment in full at time of booking is preferred but a 200$ non refundable deposit can hold the dates and will need to paid in full 2 weeks prior to the trip.

2.7% will be added to Visa / online payments.

All prices are subject to 5% GST

We suggest purchasing trip insurance from a third party provider. Policy dependant this can cover things like injury prior to the trip, lost luggage, missed flights etc. Acera seems to provide reasonable coverage for the adventure traveller.
