At Big Bend Backcountry, we are fortunate to have a remarkable connection with a local snowcat operator. With enough notice and if it aligns with their logistics, we can book a snowcat to take us to the ridge top, allowing us to start our day with a short walk to some incredible skiing. Guests can look forward to open bowls, burnt forests, epic tree skiing, and fun chutes as part of our Revelstoke ski trips!
Logistics - We will meet at 6:30 am at La Baguette Coffee Shop in Revelstoke. During this time, we will outline the day's itinerary, discuss avalanche hazards, and sign waivers. We will drive approximately 50 km west of Revelstoke on the highway. Guests will hop in the Big Bend Backcountry truck and travel on a forest service road to the snowcat staging area. From there, we will bump up to the ridge top, conduct hands-on Companion Rescue training, and ski for the day. Plan to return to the truck between 3:30 and 4 pm and head back to Revelstoke around 5 pm.
Pricing - The cost is $950 per day for up to two guests, with an additional $75 per person for extra guests. We accommodate a maximum of 6 persons. Full payment is preferred at the time of booking, but a $200 non-refundable deposit can secure your date. Full payment will be required two weeks prior to the trip start.
For Canadian clients, e-transfer is preferred. Please note there is an additional 2.7% fee for all Visa and online payment options, plus 5% GST.
We suggest purchasing trip insurance from a third-party provider, especially if you’re planning adventures like Big Bend Backcountry or Revelstoke ski trips. Depending on the policy, this insurance can cover various issues such as injury prior to the trip, lost luggage, or missed flights. Acera seems to provide reasonable coverage for the adventure traveller, including those who might be interested in a snowcat assisted ski program. Other options are available.

All clients must acknowledge the waiver before booking their trips, whether for the stunning Big Bend Backcountry or our exciting Revelstoke ski trips. Additionally, clients will be required to sign in person on the first morning of all trips, including those participating in our snowcat assisted ski program.
